We are coming together to catch our breath, share some real laughs with women who simply get it, and finally let someone else do the cooking for a change.
Meet Chef Anisa Em'
of Nana's Deeply Rooted
Chef Anisa Mejia (affectionately known as Chef Anisa Em') is a holistic plant-based chef, herbalist, and the creative force behind Nana's Rooted. Drawing from her multicultural upbringing and early memories of cooking alongside her grandmothers, Chef Anisa believes deeply in "food as medicine"—crafting meals specifically designed to nourish the mind, body, and soul.
Now based in the DMV area, she brings a vibrant menu of authentic Caribbean, Afro-Latino, and Southern flavors to her private chef and catering services. Rejecting heavily processed meat alternatives in favor of real, unrefined, organic whole foods, her nourishing menus feature dishes like signature crispy jackfruit griot, Dominican-style stewed eggplant, and fresh cold-pressed green juices.

Gr8 Escapes | Massanutten, VA
Gr8 Escapes is a collection of curated luxury vacation rental chalets located in the heart of Massanutten Resort in McGaheysville, Virginia, founded by husband-and-wife Superhosts Erika and Germain Blair. Erika is also a co-founder of Sunflower Mamas, an organization very close to her heart, established in honor of her daughter Kamara, who passed away. The properties include Mountain Escape, Moonstone Escape, Emerald Escape, Season 4 Escape, and the combined Gr8 Epic Escape (which sleeps up to 32 guests), featuring premium amenities like game rooms, coffee and DIY waffle bars, hot tubs, and close proximity to local skiing, waterparks, and hiking trails.
Meet Divayogi, Michelle Stafford
Michelle Stafford is a trauma-informed wellness practitioner, community leader, and space-holder based in Baltimore. As the founder of Divayogi, she offers private yoga instruction and community wellness classes rooted in mindful alignment, holistic health, and deep compassion.
Michelle is also the co-founder of Sunflower Mamas, created in honor of her son Joshua, providing a gentle sanctuary and sisterhood for mothers navigating child loss. Her work spans advocacy and community nourishment as a co-founder of the Children’s Veg Fest and Board Secretary for the Black Veg Society. Through every space she holds, Michelle is committed to fostering healing, connection, and radical rest.
